- Please only bring one extra person with you, if you decide to bring someone! Having too many people in the workplace can not only be overwhelming for the other clients being tattooed, but also for the artists. If there is a special circumstance, please just ask!
- Eat a hearty meal beforehand, and be hydrated! I will not tattoo you if you haven't done this, and we'll have to reschedule.
- Make sure the desired area skin doesn't have any sunburn or damage that is in the process of healing - I cannot tattoo this, and we'll have to reschedule.
- Be sure to have at least one (or a few) general ideas of where you would like your tattoo!
- Have a decent idea of what you want! And if you'd like to make changes to your design at any point during booking.
- Be sure to regularly moisturize the areas you'd like to get the tattoo! Moisturized skin is better for the tattoo than dry skin, and makes healing easier.
Upon finishing your appointment, a clear adhesive bandage will placed on your tattoo. Please leave this on for AT LEAST 24 hours! You can leave this on for up to 4 days. It helps speed up the healing process, but it won't hurt you if it comes off between that 1-4 day period. If you’ve been given saran wrap, do your best to keep it on for 8-12 hours. If it comes off before then, just do your best to keep it clean and start the washing & moisturizing early.
When you take it off, I recommend you take it off in the shower with warm water. For the next two weeks, upon taking off the bandage, you'll be washing & moisturizing your tattoo twice a day. I recommend using very basic soaps such as Dove or Dial Gold to wash your tattoos, and using your favorite unscented lotion to moisturize them, such as Lubriderm or Nivea. Don't use anything with heavy scents!
For the next two weeks, please avoid sun exposure, water submersion, and scratching your tattoo. In the first week of having your tattoo, it may start to scab. This is totally normal! Please try not to pick at it, though it may itch a little, this can take the ink out and give you an inconsistently lined tattoo.
Please try to avoid any excessive sweating for the next two weeks, as well as wearing any abrasive clothing on top of the tattoo! Excessive sweat can extend the healing process, and abrasion can irritate the tattoo and either create inconsistencies in the line quality as well as extend the healing process.
